The largest environmental challenge at Lake Tahoe is transportation. Vehicles pollute air and create sediments that cloud the water, plus kill countless forest animals each year. Therefore transit to Expo activities is part of this years showcase, starting with what we have: TART, BlueGo, Nifty Fifty public buses, your bike, and what we were able to purchase from contributions; 5 free shuttles running from 2pm to 8pm, plus 1 water taxi running from 8am to 3pm (special for Expo participants this day only).
In upcoming years, the TahoeExpo seeks to offer biodiesel buses and green watercraft, and options to park outside the Tahoe basin, shuttling you into the area, and back. Sept 10th and Sept 11th as a courtesy to the 2,000 bike riders we ask you please bike or take transit. Use your actions to benefit the lake… while having fun.
